February 9th Meeting Minutes
Members present: Pat Stearns, Bob Stall,Larry Frisoli, David Besse, Jenna Brownson, Ian Kersley, Dave Kiley, Gerry Portante, Gary Austin,Tom Carlson, Steve Bast, Quinn Canfield and Mark Hollinger

Pat Stearns called the meeting to order at 7:35.

January Minutes
The previous meeting's minutes were approved unanimously.

Treasurers Report
Balance of approximately $39k in the town account, and just short of $19k in the booster account
 
Registration
 
Registrations for in town teams are as follows:
 
Pee Wee- 50 players are registered – If additional coaches or assistants are needed some of the high   school players are available to volunteer.
U6 – Nothing to Report
U8– 62 players are registered – teams need to be rebalance for the spring season
 
Travel Report
 
Registration numbers for the travel teams are as follows:
 
BOYS - All team entrees were made
 
U10There will be 4 teams
 
U12- There will be 3 teams
 
U14- There will be 1 team – 2 players agreed to play at the U12 level; 3 players opted for the reserve squad with no fee associated and 1 player opted not to play
 
U18 - There will be 1 High School team
 
GIRLS
 
U10- 47 players registered – Capped 55 - (5 teams 9 players) – registration capped at 55players
 
U12- 51 players registered – Capped 60 - (4 teams 15 players) – registration to be re opened and capped at 60 players
 
U14- 45 players registered - Capped 36- (2 teams 18 players) – 9 players wait listed – Should a REC team be submitted – needs to be discussed with Brenda
 
U18 - 25 players registered - Capped 18- (1 team 18 players) – 7 players wait listed

NVYSL
  • Brenda requested girls U12A team be moved and it was approved (MTOC I to MTOC II)
  • Need coach’s pledges re submitted from either the head coach or assistants.
  • Email should be sent out to all coaches regarding concussions
Equipment
Orders have been placed for in town shirts they should be available in time for the coaches meeting March 10th.

Coach Development
Coaches’ looking to obtain their “F” license, the training will be held at Russell School on May 10th and May 17th

Boosters
  • Travel Coaches shirts should be available for March 10th coaches meeting
  • Booster table will be set up for picture day April 2nd
Other items:
Coaches Meeting March 10th @ P+R Multipurpose Room
  • 7:00 - 8:00 Travel Coaches
  • 8:00 – 9:00 In Town Coaches
Registration/Player Allocation – Registrations will be opened and closed on the following time lines
  • Spring registration will open on October 15th and close on December 15th
  • Fall registration will open on May 1stand close on June 15th
  • Tryouts will be held the 1st Saturday after registration closes
  • No cap on U14 - tryouts will be held if necessary
MTOC pass cards – Due by March 22nd
Two motions regarding travel coaches were addressed:
1st motion - Travel and age directors draft a list of potential coaches and present that list to the board for approval (motion denied)
2nd motion – travel directors pick the coaches unless there is more than one person that wants to coach and then a subcommittee will pick and approve the coach (motion approved)
It was decided that coaches chosen to coach in the fall season will carry over to spring season unless there is a coaching controversy, and then the coach will be decided by a subcommittee
